A 12V 100Ah LiFePO₄ battery is a common and reliable choice for small trolling-motor setups. For most casual anglers, it delivers plenty of runtime as long as the motor isn’t pushed at full throttle for long periods. If your trolling motor typically draws around 25–30A during normal use, you can expect 4–6 hours of mixed operation, which is usually enough for a relaxed day on the water.
Keep in mind that factors like wind, current, boat size, and weight can change runtime. If you need guaranteed all-day power or use a higher-thrust motor, a second battery or a larger capacity may be a better fit.
